Member in the spotlight: Ans Vermijs.

Ans Vermijs is a regular face in our Club. She visits Black & White Community and Kafe several times, for over 8 years now. After she got a new hip she came to Black & White Community. She liked this right away, Ans describes it as, "You enter in a warm bath. It took some getting used to the group classes, but the nice thing is that you get to know the other participants. All the instructors are all nice people, this makes it very nice to be at Black & White."
The Pilates class at Babs is Ans' favorite class and she likes to alternate it with the power and other yoga classes such as hot yoga, vinyasa and Pilates. She is also happy with the events that are organized and can be found every year at our recurring festival Breda Spirit Festival. Black & White has helped in her personal development, so she has become more interested in yoga and is learning to relax once in a while as well, instead of always pushing forward. She calls Black & White Community her "second home."As advice for (new) members who are considering becoming members, she says, "Come join us sometime, I'm sure you'll be excited.

How great to see on social media that Annemiek, Sandra, Hanna, Ellen, Karen and Diana had such a great time during National Sports Week! It is always inspiring to see how people motivate each other and have fun together while exercising.
 
We would like to congratulate Annemiek, Sandra, Hanna, Ellen, Karen and Diana for their sporting achievements and the nice pictures they posted. As a reward they all get to pick up a delicious smoothie at Kafe. What a delicious treat after an intense workout!
 
We hope these athletic girls continue to enjoy their sporting adventures and inspire others to get active as well. "Why am I not holding on?"

You know you feel good when you exercise regularly, eat healthy and take your yoga class, but why is it so hard to keep it up? Maintaining motivation and consistently following a healthy lifestyle can sometimes be a challenge. But don't worry, we have some tips for you to stay motivated and consistently maintain your healthy lifestyle.
 
  1. Set realistic goals: It is important to set goals that are achievable and realistic. Setting yourself too high expectations can lead to disappointment and demotivation. Start with small, achievable goals and work from there.
  2. Find your 'why': Identify the reasons why you want to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Whether it's to improve your health, lose weight or increase your energy levels, having a clear "why" will help you stay motivated, even at difficult times.
  3. Make a plan: Establish a plan that will help you reach your goals. This could include planning your meals and workouts, establishing a weekly routine or finding a workout partner. A good plan can help you stay organized and maintain your focus.
  4. Find pleasure in what you do: Choose activities and foods that you enjoy/enjoy. If you enjoy what you do, you are more likely to stick with it in the long run. Try different sports and recipes to discover what suits you best.
  5. Reward yourself: Set rewards for achieving your goals. These can be small rewards, such as a relaxing bath after a week of healthy eating, or larger rewards, such as a new outfit when you reach a milestone. Rewarding yourself can boost your motivation and help you stay motivated.
  6. Find support: It can be helpful to have a support system. This can consist of friends or family members who encourage and support you during your journey to a healthy lifestyle. Together you are stronger and can motivate each other.
 
Remember that motivation can sometimes fluctuate, and that's normal. The important thing is not to judge yourself too harshly when you have a down day. Just pick up where you left off and keep doing your best. With the right mindset, you can consistently maintain your healthy lifestyle and achieve your goals.

Boxing

One of the workouts we provide in our outdoor space is boxing. We will discuss the benefits of this sport, show how many calories you can burn during a boxing workout and, of course, emphasize how fun and energetic the workouts are. 
 
Boxing is not only a great way to stay fit, but it also offers numerous other benefits. First, it is a great cardiovascular workout. During a boxing workout, your heart rate and breathing are increased, improving your endurance. In addition, boxing helps build muscle strength and improve your coordination and balance. It is a total body workout that helps you become stronger and fitter.
 
But how many calories can you actually burn during a boxing workout? Well, that depends on several factors, such as your weight, intensity of the workout and duration of the session. In general, however, you can count on burning about 500-800 calories per hour. This makes boxing an effective way to lose weight and improve your fitness.

Hanna, Sieneke, Ronn, Marcel and Victor are all passionate instructors who ensure that every training session is a great experience. They are driven to motivate and challenge you while providing a safe and supportive environment.
