Biography
I am Marcel Wille, and co-owner of the Black & White Community for 20 years. Yoga and personal growth are my passion, and I have been teaching for over 30 years. It is a life path that has brought me inner peace after years of searching. Before I started teaching yoga, I, like many, was searching for balance in a busy life.
My journey began with a 5-year Ashtanga yoga training with Prem and Radha Carlisi in Bali. I then had the opportunity to train with teachers such as Manju Jois, David Williams, David Swenson and Kino McGregor. I also took Yin Yoga training with Paul Grilley in London, and for many years I worked one-on-one with Elsie Mathijssen of Antwerp Yoga. These experiences shaped me into the teacher I am today.
In addition to yoga, I have studied various healing methods. I am certified in Reiki 2 and ThetaHealing and did 15 days of Vipassana meditation in Doi Su Thep, Thailand. Ayurveda has also always appealed to me, and I trained in Bali with Jeffrey Armstrong.
Another important aspect of my journey has been my experience with detox and fasting. I went through multiple forms of detox and even fasted for 42 days. This period of fasting has given me a deep understanding of how powerful the body and mind can be when they cleanse themselves. It is a powerful way to find inner clarity and reset your energy, and I like to integrate these experiences into my teachings.
In addition, I have worked several times with plant medicine, which has brought deep transformations. Twice I traveled to Peru and spent weeks in the Amazon with the Shipibo Indians, where I fully immersed myself in working with plant medicine. These experiences have helped me find deeper layers of healing with myself and make deeper contact with my own core. They have taught me how powerful our bodies and minds are in self-healing, and I love sharing this wisdom with my students.
Over the years, I have learned to communicate yoga philosophy in a practical, accessible way. My classes are for everyone, from beginners to advanced, and I always create an inspiring and safe space where we can grow together. Humor plays a big role in this, as I believe laughter can be just as healing as meditation.
Breathe in, breathe out. Smile 😊
